No regrets after watching NO REGRETS

lately, i've been on a movie marathon... low productivity at work but energetic max in front of the idiot box... ok, back to the purpose of writing this entry, to share my experience watching this drama... it is like THE BEST TVB drama i've ever watched so far... i did not yawn or get bored in any epi, i couldn't take my eyes off the screen too (part of it is b'coz i must pay 120% attention to understand what they were saying and most of the scenes were superbly kan cheong) and i have to pause when i need to go to the loo-this shows how much i'm into the drama.. highly recommended, must not miss series as u will definitely not regret watching it..

the casts were real good, the protagonists and antagonists played very well as they were able to make me (and other drama lovers i assumed) loved the hero & heroin and hated the bad guys so much..

the storyline, climax is found every now and then, meaning, whenever i wanna stop after a few epi, i find it hard b'coz i would really like to knw wat happens next...

besides, after watching this, my conscience hits me-i'm thankful i was not born during the japanese occupation years; i am grateful to live in this part of the world with no war and famine...

wat an AWESOME drama... hats off*

I received a mail from my colleague and I had a good laugh in the midst of marking exam scripts.. Students are unbelievable, they can be naughty, funny etc but things they say, make sense at times..

can I have 4hours more in a day.. I wish to do something I like... work + studies are mandatory and I am adapting, still trying to balance them but I really want to do things which I enjoy doing-not saying I hate what I am doing currently (find marking exam scripts not that taxing if I just show some love to the scripts).. what I really like is craft, cards particularly... yes, with just a click we can choose and send a card right away but don't you think receiving a real card is rather exciting? it has been a while since I last receive a card, I keep all my birthday and cny cards, how could I throw them away? I bought some manila cards, I hope I'll get a few cards done before the chaotic and hectic days begin..

stationery from green poppies are indescribable, I'm so in love with all of them because they are not just adorable but look pleasant, very eye-soothing, the colours used are soft and images drawn are simple yet elegant......... oh ya, other equally pretty stuff I spotted are a scrapbook and photo frame..

these are do-able but the quality may not be as good as the ones sold... I am so motivated to make those especially the scrapbook.. I would like to do some scrapbooking so that I can reminisce when I am old...

I've been a very good girl Santa, I aced the grade, I worked hard (only being a little naughty when I throw my tantrum) and I always sayang my family and friend, please grant my wish.. thank u~

Holi Holiday Foodie~

the most significant food in Penang, I would say is Char Koay Teow.. you will see Char Koay Teow wherever you go, it's haunting you wherever you go.. it's different from the conventional char koay teow we find elsewhere-because it has 2 big prawns , I repeat, TWO big prawns and some Chinese sausages (which I hated a lot)...

laksa is the next food you can find.. to be frank, i hated laksa because it looks as if the soup was made from tissue paper-haha, how gross.. but after tasting the laksa at Kek Lok Si (before entering the temple), I was like, hey it's not tissue paper, it's yummy...

the rest of the food can be seen at the bottom.. the ones which are larger means they are tastier..

our first meal-char koay teow, char kueh kak, hokkien mee (resembles mee udang in Perak) and balley..

*did not take any pictures of the food we ate on our first night because I was too shy as we ate with his friends.. idiotic me, as if they care...

breakfast before climbing the Kek Lok Si temple.. Laksa, popiah and sugarcane water.. the laksa uncle (the one in green apron) was so adorable as he stopped and posed for us though the queue was rather long.. what a friendly laksa uncle-I will definately visit this laksa stall again if I get to go there again.. ohh, the popiah was equally nice, hot from the stove, very crispy-*2 thumbs up*

our late lunch, after coming down from the temple... erm hainan chicken rice, not recommended (not nice la), the char koay teow is good but it's way too pricey... the herbal tea was expensive too, 1 glass there equals to 2 glasses elsewhere.. hmm, don't visit the restaurant (it's around the laksa stall too at Kek Lok Si)..

some random street food.. Penang chu cheong fan, I don't really like it-why? maybe it's too dry, maybe it's due to the prawn paste.. the rest: egg tart, muar chee and dunno-what-are-those-called were fingerlicking good...

had a very heavy late dinner at Crepe Cottage, Leng brought us there... the crepes were superb!!!

our final day breakie... 2 half-boiled eggs on 2 pieces of toasted bread.. it's ok I guess because I am never a fan of half-boiled egg but the pepper has gotten rid of the smell for me, so it's acceptable for me.. and oh, must finish it when they are still hot, then it's confirmed yummy..

*our lunch was break into 2 sessions because according to Leng, we have to try the cake of the day at Amelie's Cafe..

Amelie's cafe does not only sell delicious cakes/brownies and serve nice drinks but the environment is very different.. different as in better.. for me, it's a very very very very very small restaurant (google it if you don't trust me)-how small? it fits 10customers max -4 tables and 1 kitchen occupy the whole restaurant... as for the food and drinks, i tried banana lime, leng asked for longan milk while he ordered espresso and all of us requested the cake-of-the-day which happened to be choco brownie.. nice ambience, nice drinks, nice cake..

final meal before pushing off.. roti *non-halal*, yong tau fu, ice kacang and wet popiah..

the aftermath of this trip --weight gain... grrrr, need to go to the torture chamber more often...

Holi Holiday~

i luv December because it's the month with the least work... and i got to go out of Kampar-what a big relief.. though i went to most of the places before, but different companion makes some difference.. climbing, walking and eating were what we did for 4long days-somehow very relaxing.. so, my holiday in pictures is as follows (lazy me blogging via the lazy method).. started off in Perak and ended in Penang..

Gua Tempurung, the famous cave in Perak.. Took the shortest route, only 40min-it was my 2nd time there.. and what I can say is, they found a few new cave formation images..

Kellie's Castle, the only castle in M'sia, unfortunately, it was not finished but still it's a tourist attraction spot and now it's a pre-wedding snapshot hot spot because we bump into 4 pairs of newly wed that day..

Botanic Garden, where you see flowers and trees but they are lacking currently..

Kek Lok Si, to be specific, the bronze Guan Yin pavillion.. sadly my picture with the statue didn't turn out nice (oh ya, the statue is the tallest standing guan yin in the world-that's what i found in google).. replaced it with this, one of the 12 Chinese zodiac signs.. i was not born in the year of the tiger, but was asked to take a pix beside the tiger by him because i am

It's Peranakan Mansion-doesn't sound familiar, does Little Nyonya ring a bell? Yeah, it's the mansion where Little Nyonya, the famous Singapore drama was filmed.. a tour guide led a group of tourists, and i without hesitation joined them and listened to a wonderful in-depth description of the house.. *thumbs up*

so, after visiting the Peranakan Mansion, a friend of mine, Leng became our tour guide and we walked for almost 3hours around Georgetown area for sightseeing.. the thing which caught our attentions was the many ancient looking buildings which are apparently BANKS at Beach Street.. so, Penangites may see a moron walking and snapping pix that day..

on the ferry, bidding farewell to Penang, The Pearl of the Orient... can you see Komtar?
