Gangster Snow White

Dis entry, I plagiarized from angie…(I admit plagiarizing in broad daylight-how daring!!)
Neway, I decide to publish it here for remembrance (dun wish to forget those comical acts we did in our lit class-c, told u guys: lit is fun, it’s not about Shakespeare all d time)
Previously we did an essay on Cinderella… I’m sure u guys neva come across Roald Dahl version of Cindy (the 20th century one), as we were exposed to Charles Perrault 17th century version all the time… Go check out Roald Dahl’s Cinderella, I guarantee u’ll laugh your head off.. Cindy aside, now read on how innocent, pure, pretty Snow White transformed..

I'm sure all of u are familiar with the Snow White & 7dwarfs-grumpy, happy, bashful, sleepy, dopey, doc, and sneezy fairytale.

Well, recently in literature tutorial, i did 4 short drama scenes in 4genres for the Snow White fairytale. The plot was twisted and polished anew to present revamped versions of Snow White in Western a.k.a Cowboy, Horror, Gangster & Comedy genre.

Starting with the Cowboy genre.... There was Prince Charming in his cowboy hat, lovely Snow White who's the damsel in distress, the wicked waitress who is the witch & the 7 dwarfs who owns the 7Dwarfs Inn, the place which the Snow White & the wicked waitress work as waitresses. The Cowboy prince is of cos the hero and represents the good saviour who gona save Snow White. And the 7 dwarfs are the bad owners with big guns, while the jealous waitress gona try to poison Snow White. --- So the plot is a total revamped genre..
We did play d scene below but of coz d clever snowy (me) didnt eat the apple becoz the prince manage to snatch the apple away..


While the Horror genre was a short scene but Snow White was mortifying enough that it compiles to horror convention. The scene is like this: Snow White was poisoned by the Stepmother, but she didnt die... instead she revived and took revenge on the living. She stabs the stepmother who poisioned her and also killed the Prince who tried to save her...lol.... it was pulled off perfectly well....cos Snow White's long hair covered her whole face to give the terror effect. lol..
Imagine snowy woke up faceless coz her visage has been fully covered by her long silky black hair (may ling's hair scare shahrul away-hehehehe)


Gangster genre was a funny one, cos Snow White is now the big boss of a triad and the 7dwarfs are her followers. Snow White orders her followers to search for a suitable partner for her...so they kidnap the neighbouring prince. lol...
Then the prince is forced to marry Snow White. Next, the followers kidnap a priest to hold the wedding....and actually the priest was supposed to save the prince, But.... the priest forgot what was agreed earlier....so he happily married snow white with prince... and told them.... 'u may kiss the bride'..... well....due to incomprehensionable shock......i (angie) turned around and said.....'this is the end of the gangster genre'. The audience was quite hip about it, and was cheering the 'couple ' to kiss... lol..... of cos it cant be carried out.... gotta pity the actor actress..... it was not agreed to be a happy couple (will and angie) but a jilted bride.. lol.
So, we don't have d scene below, how sad-pity d audience..


Lastly it was the comedy genre. It's a gender-bender type with cross dressing involved. Snow White is a male (angie showed her machoness) while the Prince is a female (will portrayed her feminine side). lol.
The scene starts with the wedding ceremony whereby the Priest solemnise the vows.. After the exchanging of vows ended; the prince unveiled Snow White.... but since it's a he.... the Prince screamed and ran away. Then Snow White chase after the Prince and in the midst of chasing, dropped her fake boobs(oranges)... lol. The Priest pick the orange and exclaimed out loud that 'This is the 1st time I've married a man with a man'. ....haha.... well it's a comedy....so it has to a be weirdly laughable. :P

angie put everything in-detail.. she didnt miss a thing.. basically we hav lotsa fun in all our courses, lit particularly.. though i'm not good in acting but i enjoy d process of making it n rehearsing is fun too...
