Mi Re So La Do

Yesterday was E-day (election day), instead of voting, i went to watch a concert..
not those jay chou or backstreet boys type of concert..
it's chinese orchestra concert, to b specific cantonese music...
becoz i attended da xi bei 2 years bk, i m so ready to watch a fantastic performance that would make me go WOW for 2 hours...
however, it didnt turn out d way i wan it to b.. ...

in the 1st half of the show, d 1st song (he zhou) and 2nd song where 5 of d performers played western instruments were hear-able, d rest hmmmm..
i was suprised to see our di zi teacher play d saxophone, it seems like he is able to play all those wind instruments which require blowing-how talented!!!
there were very few young performers & young audience (most of us-d younger generation knows each other, hi-bye frends)
generally, it was conquered by older citizens..

here come d not so fun part... there's dis 3 old man-siblings i think (guest musician) played d percussion rather loudly.. imagine a man using all the strength he has to bang d super big cymbals- for me it's very noisy,it's so loud that it covered d souna-last time i was quite iritated by suona but now cymbals annoyed me more..

d 2nd half was superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
got to know our plucking teacher can played zhong hu besides pi pa, liu xin, etc etc.
there were a number of them which i knew from yu hua secondary school, chaos concert & long ying (they might not know me, but i will b their supportive fan foreva).. of coz they played amazingly.. in fact, i need to salute them too, they hav proper jobs, studies, etc etc but still hav time for wat they r passionate about- no doubt they have very good time management.. kudos to u guys...

the ticket which cost me 25 bucks, it's worth it though we had a difficult time finding our way to Panggung Bandaraya

souvenir book which says 'gong che he tu shang' (my mandarin is bad, so u can't expect me to give accurate han yu pin yin-that will do)

d 70 years old singer, her voice is as high pitch as gao hu!!!(which is d 1 i enjoyed most compared to d rest)

the plucking group who possessed extremely flexible fingers presented a soothing piece..
1st pix is a young boy playing a 2 strings instrument (i dunno wat it is call)
2nd pix is our teacher who teach d plucking group in ukm

moving on, the bowed string group... all sort of 'hu' were used-er hu (d 1 i'm learning), gao hu, zhong hu & ban hu.. f.y.i cello and double bass are also in dis category-our ..

not forgetting d di zi-we spotted our di zi teacher (but he was playing suona dat day-too talented oredi, play all sorts of instrument n d handsem guy (in red) who helped us out in our concert, next to them is jian ching lau shi (another very talented teacher who can play almost all d instruments and a hyperactive conductor.. happy to c them..

si yun, d youngest gal in d lot played d xylophone skillfully.... she specialized in percussion.. btw, i like dat song very much..

the young n pretty conductor.. 1st time i come across a young conductor..

d finale, 2nd 'he zhou'.. how i wish they present us preformance like dis from d beginning till d end... not forgetting, tribute to d young & pretty conductor... overall, it's a great show.. after watching these great shows, it did trigger my eagerness to play slightly better..
observing d way professionals played somehow or other manage to inject some inspiration to learners like me..
